We are discussing putting our J-3 on the market (possible trade in the works, actually) and I’m having trouble determining current value. The market seems a bit thin now.

Specs:

1946, Ponka City built with metal spars.
Restored in 2006, excellent job on airframe, painted in Ranthane and a few cracks in paint, mainly inside the cockpit.
C-85-8 with 0-200 crank STC, 40 SMOH
Metal prop
Stock brakes.

It’s a flier and is showing a bit of wear after 16 years but I’d give it a strong 8 or 9.

I know many things can affect value and I’ve given a pretty thin overview…it’s a start.

Thoughts? I appreciate any insight.
