Hey guys
Just purchased a j3 on floats and wanted the opinion of some experienced folks on a few matters. I debated splitting these questions up but feel free to just answer what you have an opinion on. Here goes;

1. How do you tie the tail down? I'm tempted to use the tail wheel bracket and make some sort of contraption or perhaps a u bolt to make a proper place to tie a line to. Thoughts or ideas?

2. To put a wire across the front of the floats or not. Growing up we had a cub that had one but not in any seaplanes since. Pros and cons?
3. Collapsible panel or float-mounted paddle? The plane came with a collapsible but I wonder if I should go with the slight extra weight of adding a paddle mount on the float for quicker and easier access to the paddle when I'm standing out there and needed immediately
4.anyone have a real great checklist for a J3 on floats which includes a walk around and preflight?
5. Anyone have a flotation device rear seat and if so where did they get it? I'm thinking of having one made that is nice and thick to get me up higher to see over the nose in all portions of flight and doubles as a throwable floatation device
6. Any thoughts on portable fire extinguishers? Type and where to mount them in a cub?

Thanks all in advance for the insight and opinions!
