I have an early A65/C85 tapered crankshaft (solid throws) that was made before the addition of the dowel pin that takes much of the starting load off the four crankshaft gear attaching screws. I have the later gear with the dowel pin hole and a new dowel pin for installation. Has anyone had this done and could you recommend a shop that will do this. I bought the pin from Aircraft Specialties but they do not provide the installation service.

I have a new B&C starter for my C85-12. Up at Osh B&C noted there have been problems in the field with the high torque starters on gears/crankshafts that do not have the dowel pin.

Much obliged for any help
Bill
