Hi all,
Sorting through my "junk" lately. I've had this cowling for many years, and could never quite figure out what engine application it was for. Anyone recognize it?
I assume it's Piper (?). It looks Piper, and constructed identical to a Piper cowling. It's in perfect shape, appears never used. Does not appear modified other than someone drilled out & removed the induction Y. No cut out for an air filter assembly, just the bottom cut out for the carb intake. There's a number 25164 written on the inside, if that means anything.
Early Franklin or Continental of some kind? I've never found a photo that matches the side cut out shape and the 2 exhaust cut outs. Thanks for any input!
Regards, Dave
