Hi Everyone

I've recently purchased a 1939 J3 Cub.

It's been running on Avgas, however, I'm thinking about switching to Mogas and using an additive.

Someone who owns a 1941 Taylorcraft (also fitted with a 65hp Continental) mentioned that when they switched to Mogas it caused swelling of a rubber component on the needle inside the carb, this led to fuel starvation problems whilst in flight.

To rectify this issue, they had to add an extra washer to adjust the float/needle height in the carb.

I'd like to run mogas, but I don't want to risk any fuel starvation problems.

Has anyone else had these sorts of issues at all?

Can anyone offer any advice?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers
Ivan
