I sent an email to the daughter of a WW II Liaison pilot who flew my O-58A several times while he was stationed at the Pittsburg Liaision training school. He was involved in a landing accident in my aircraft August 2nd, 1943. He went on to fly L-4s in Europe as an artillery pilot and also in Korea. Below is the accident info and a link to the Daughters web page with a photo of her Dad in front of a L-4.
Here is the response I received from her today.
"Hi, Steve,
I forwarded your email to my brother, and he sent it on to my niece. We're really excited about hearing from you about the restoration. There's a lot I can share with you, and we do have photos. I'm a full time high school teacher and a bit swamped at the moment, but give me some time and I'll see what I can come up with. You're also welcome to ask questions. My brother also has a lot of our Dad's old stuff.
One thing; there's a photo in you collection on photobucket of a woman standing beside the plane. Do you have a better picture of her? Do you know who she is? Where did the picture come from?
Johanna"
I am really looking forward to seeing the history of her Fathers service and the photos.
