I recently acquired a J-3 with a C-90-12F with a McCauley 71/48. My understanding is that this prop is probably classified as a cruise prop. I would like more pull, but don't know what pitch to look for. I am based at 1100 ft, and will be doing very little cross country, so speed is not near as important as take off distance and climb performance. Would sure appreciate any input that you are willing to share.
