Update on my C-85 -12 engine rebuild. Crank returned from Aircraft Specialties minus .020, nitrated and ready to go. Cam was chromed at the journals and reground to original dimensions. Cylinders would have had to be punched to 030. and by the time new pistons, rings, springs, I was told new cylinders would be the best way to go. My case was ok, accessory case was rebushed at the oil pump.

I have a question about the oil pump. I've heard JimC say that oil screen access is limited by muffler and that necessitates muffler removal at oil change time. Would I be better off using the adapter and going for the new disposable filter? (pros and cons on oil pressure). I understand that two length stalks are available for the disposable filter housing. The long one interferes with the cowl whereas the short one tucks inside. Any discussions appreciated here also whereabouts for the oil filter housing. Thanks jimmy
