Installing a C-85-8F on a J3C-65. I'm very aware that this engine is not listed on the TCDS. What is the popular method these days of getting this done legality wise.

I could not find a pre '55 337 for this exact installation on the forum. I did find the one for a C-85-12F on a J3C-65, this is close but not exact.

Reading the description of Paul Babcock's STC, it does not cover a C-85-8F or -12F on a J3C-65. Or have I missed something?

Yes I know this is BS. Doesn't help get the legal paperwork completed.

Yes I know we could get an IA to sign off the installation which would be less than correct. We don't want to go there.

Yes I know we could get a DER and go through the approval process.

Hoping for a quicker less painful method.

Thanks

Bruce
