My Piper J3 parts manual does not show a wooden stringer running lengthwise on the underside of the fuselage. There are no brackets there to accommodate one on my 1946 J3. I have seen photos on J3 restorations where one has been installed. Is this a factory feature or a modification? Does it just remain flat?
