We are fitting all new Univair parts on a restoration and had this gap. I asked Clyde Smith about this and this is his reply.

“There is supposed to be a strip of 1/4" webbing installed around the top of

the boot cowl. Univair used to have this stuff but I don't think they have

it anymore. It was used in antique automobiles between the fender and

body. That stuff will take up a considerable amount of that gap.”

Any car restoration folks that can head me in the right direction for this webbing? Thanks
