I am attaching my elevator cable with a drilled bolt and castle nut as was done on the original connection . Is there ever a time you could use a plastic self locking or an oblong MS nut for these connections ? The MS nut
when attached new would never come loose . I WILL use the castle nut and cotter pin but I am wondering why couldn't we use a self locking nut on control cable connections ?....... Is it just the way we have always done it ?
