Arrrrggg my old GE iron went west

My old GE iron has given up the ghost and I am having a hard time finding a new one without the new mandated auto shutoff. I tried two new ones and they both shutoff within 6 to 8 seconds when flat and 6 minutes when upright. They wont even stay on long enough for me to calibrate them.

Any recommendations?
