I recently joined the forum and am really appreciative of all of your expertise. Your feedback and suggestions on my current project will be a great help.

My project:
1940 J3. Once completed it will have a C90 with 12 gallon fuselage tank and 12 gallon wing tank, Grove wheels and brakes. Main reason for rebuild is increasing useful load.

I’ve checked earlier forum threads on “fuselage upgrade” and think the following list includes the main suggestions:

Planned to do:
1. Replace gear fitting to get to 1220 gw (now good for 1170)
2. Aileron pulley brackets to replace fuselage fair leads
3. Aft window frames

Considering the following (in no particular order):
A. Sea plane fittings (don’t personally plan to use)
B. Left side fuselage grab handle
C. Tail cone X mod (wheat fields and pastures the only expected off airport activities)
D Left window slider modification

Do these make sense? What would you add or subtract from the list? Definitely don't want to eat up the gw increase from the gear mod with things that won't improve the flying performance/enjoyment.

Thanks in advance,

Craig
