My I/A and I are up to our armpits in the annual hopefully finished before the airshow season is upon us. Found a weak cylinder, turned out to be #3,due to a slightly out-of - round cylinder barrel, and a crispy exhaust valve. Back from the shop with a new valve, a honed bore, ground seat, new rings and new wrist pin bushings. Should go on this weekend.

I also have a new GPS, a Garmin 510 Aera. What I don't like about it is that you can't read the screen in daylight, and with it on full bright, the battery dies after an hour. So I fixed that by making a screen hood and by having a small 5 amp-hour dry cell battery to supplement it.

I recently got a new hangar mate, a really nice little PT-23, owned by Steve and Malcolm Van Kirk. There is soon to be an empty space here at Keymar International Plane Patch, Hair Care and Tire Center. In the $300 range, so if anyone needs to stick their bird in a reasonably new hangar, let me know.
