My youngest son is 22 and a senior in college. He soloed our 170 a few years ago but due to college and other interests has only flown a few hours in the two plus years since he soloed. Two weeks ago I flew down to the Metro-Plex (DFW type) where he goes to school and took him for his first Cub ride. We did not have enough time to do landings but he did the standard air work and got used to the plane for about half an hour.

Yesterday afternoon we had a great day. 2000' overcast, 65 degrees and calm winds. We took off and made a bee line for the local grass strip where he proceeds to do three nearly flawless 3 point landings. No bounces and just a bit of over control on the rudder (he fixed it all himself with no input from the front cockpit). His first 3 Cub landings were much better than my first three after we bought this Cub. I wish I was half that good when I was his age. I hope he will be motivated enough to get his LSA rating this summer. It sure wont take him long.

I also took my older son who is 23 for his first Cub ride. He has no interest in learning to fly but he really enjoyed the flight. We chased wild hogs just north of our place, ran the Red River for a few miles at "low level" seeing ducks, deer and pelicans, and cut a roll of TP. He said it was like a motorcycle only with a better view!

I sure do love flying with my sons!

Bruce
