Adding a transponder confusion

Please help me wrap my brain around adding a Trig TT22 to my certified J3.

There are no J3 models listed in the Trig STC AML. Am I correct in thinking that if I add the Trig TT22 and EN70 encoder, I will have no avenue to certify the installation and therefore render my plane experimental?
