The previous thread about play in the yoke got me thinking about the aft attachment. When doing a preflight the other day I noticed some "play" at the aft stabilizer attach tube. When evenly spaced there is a 1/16" gap on either side of the vertical stabalizer. However I am able to move the horizontal stabalizer laterally through the tube, so that there is no gap on one side, and 1/8" gap on the other. Since there is nothing to prevent this movement other than the flying wires, my question is: is this normal, or do I need my flying wires adjusted to keep the spacing even?
