Due to parts availability on my lyc 0145 I have been flying behind for 27 years I bought an a65 core. I sent all the parts to aircraft specialties and divco for the case. Also bought new millennium cylinders. Installed new stainless exhaust a sensinich climb prop, ground the crank, new lifters, oil pump gears, and exchanged cam. I was not expecting a big difference. However, wow, what a tiger. Climb performance is unbelievable and top end speed is also increased. I could not be happier. I enjoyed my 0145 but comming home from Oskosh with a fresh overhauled head with used serviceable valves (only ones available) it swallowed the exhaust valve. Happened to be 1000 feet above my last gas stop. Made an uneventful landing and retrieved my cub with a trailer. A65 is just unbelievable. Never think I will need a larger power plant.
