I have line of sight on a mid time C85-12 and was considering converting my A65-8. The C85-12 is approx 2400 TT and 500 SMOH in 2001. Original crank and cam. Is this too much TT to consider?
Can you please educate me on what would be needed to complete the conversion? I have reviewed TC 691.
I believe I can reuse my A65 exhaust, prop (W72CK42) and all other components (except carb Stromberg carb NAS3-A1). Can you please confirm if that is correct?
Anything needed if removing the starter/generator? I’d like to leave on starter in case converting to battery only power down the road.
I have heard the tach in C85-12 rotates opposite direction than my A65-8. I’d like to keep the cream SW tach and use a converter for RPM (mine spins counter clockwise). Would you please share part number for this?
At this point, I’m seriously considering the swap, but want to be educated about what I’d realistically be getting into. Was hoping my friends here could help me out!
