Good morning guys, first off, I just want to say that this July I did something that I've always wanted to do since I got my license back in 1996 at the ripe old age of 16, lol. I got to finally flying (and Tailwheel endorsement) the j-3 out of Aeroflex-Andover (Great little airport in Northern NJ).

Anyway, I can't find any local schools by me that rent J-3s so Id really like to purchase my own. I'm on Barnstormers Daily and see a decent amount of A/C for sale around $3-35k range but for some reason I see a lot of ADs that say "Good fabric", or "recently restored" etc but a lot don't have the specific dates of when the A/C was last recovered.

I am going to have to keep the A/C outside and can get Covers that will help block the UV but would ultimately like to get an A/C with fairly recent Fabric.

Of course condition is important but what should I feel comfortable with in terms of age? 10-15-20 years? I have all the Back issues from 'cub Club" and am going through them to learn as much as I can but I figured I'd come here to pick the brain of the community........

Thanks guys.

Most fun I'VE EVER had!!!!!
