A-65 Air Box Repairable?

Gents,

My A-65 was missing its air box support bracket. Ordered the bracket and realized when putting on air box it is cracked most of the way around throat going to carb.

In your opinion, is this repairable? If yes, would welding alone work? Initial opinion is it might require additional bracing to prevent cracking around the weld. Please let me know your thoughts.
