Today is the 70th anniversary of Operation Torch and the Battle of Casablanca. Many histories list this as the first use of the L-4 in combat. Three Cubs launched from the carrier USS Ranger sixty miles off the north African coast. Crewmembers listed were: Capt. Ford E. Allcorn, Capt. Brenton A. Devol, Jr., Lt. John R. Shell and Lt. William H. Butler. Brave men all. Lest we forget.
